Vacation begins tomorrow at 9:30AM tomorrow morning! Wooohoooo. I am still at work right now and rather than getting all the stuff I need to get done before I leave this afternoon I am procrastinating on here.
Work is still super busy but it doesn’t help that I have been checking my personal mail, bank account, and a blog I love KathEats. Oh and did I mention playing games on facebook. I did start to get my stuff for work organized, I still need to figure out a more appropriate bag. Everyone keeps suggesting a briefcase on wheels - so freaking nerdy!

i refuse to spend $50 on a briefcase on wheels. I am still thinking about just a backpack but I think that my laptop is just too heavy to carry around on my back. what to do what to do.
Welp, enough for procrastinating. Gotta finish reading katheats and then my notes for the week then fax everything over to my manager.
I expected to update this blog at least once a day and I have totally gotten away from that. It is for a good reason though - I AM BUSY AT WORK. I honestly never thought I would be but the members acutally want to see me and learn things about wellness and nutrition. I’ve always made it a point not to do work at home. I want to continue that balance for my whole life. Unfortunately this means that I am behind on my notes for work and have been getting increasingly overwhelmed. It also doesn’t help that I am at two locations so rather than have an office where I can keep everything organized, I have to carry around a bag with all my materials, etc. IT IS DRIVING ME CRAZY. I have a type A personality for the most part so the fact that I am not organized and on top of all my work is making me beyond stressed out and is actually making me feel like I am getting sick. I ended up skipping both Tuesday’s (mostly due to scuba lessons) and Thursday’s runs with Jeannine because I was overly tired and didn’t feel well. Both nights I did run at the gym though so I don’t feel too bad.
The gym and eating have been going well with the exception of the chocolate/raspberry/cheesecake brownies we made the other day. I really only kept eating them because I wanted to eat the raspberries but still it was a prime example of being a gluten. The one thing I really like about living not at home, besides the obvious, is that I do not always have dessert. Here there are always cookies, fudge bars, ice cream sandwiches, or brownies, or a combo of sorts. And I do not have enough self control to resist.
Oh man, well I am getting stressed out just sitting her thinking about needing to do laundry, notecards for my RD exam, hand my bookshelf, and organize the desk in my room. I wasn’t going to go to the gym but now I think I might have to just to relax!
Work is getting better, slowely, I am ready for a vacation though. Orientation was nice although it was suppose to last 4 days but it ended up being cut short to 3 days.
I still am not in love with it mostly because I am not good at motivating people to do things they do not want to do but I have a good group of people at each location that are seeking me out so it takes up some of my time and makes it look like I am actually doing things.
The paycheck is pretty nice too, although I haven’t had a full month to see how much I have left over after paying rent, the car, and the discover bill.
I would love to spend my next paycheck on Ashley’s teal clutch in this picture. LOVE LOVE LOVE it

I had an awesome weekend - Friday I went down to Wilmington to visit Shelby. We had tacos courtesy of Kyle along with Margaritas and the best mango salsa I have ever had. It was one of those nights though where no matter how much I drank I could not get drunk, which wasn’t a bad thing overall, just annoying. We went to Catherine Rooney’s in Trolley Square with a bunch of Shelby’s boyfriend’s friends and Cecily came to - still can’t believe she cut off her dreads. We went back and everyone went up on the roof to smoke but I kinda freaked out and got off mostly because of what happened to Lisa but also because I am just scared of heights to begin with. When we went back to the apartment Cecily and I got ready to sleep on the couches and 3 of the guys came back, 1 of them ended up leaving but the other two managed to weasel their way onto the couch. Kyle was creeping on me and I wasn’t down with that so I texted Shelby to see if I could come sleep on her floor. I felt bad because her bf was here and he lives in jersey so they don’t get to see each other all the time. She let me crash on her floor anyway thank god.
Saturday I headed home at like 10:30 and went straight to Dad’s because he said he would pay me to help clean up the mess after the storm they had the night before. Plus we had to head to the scuba place to get fitted for our equipment and fill out paperwork. We did a good amount of yard work, mostly picking up sticks but it was a nice almost fall clean up because I know I will have to help with the fall clean up. At 3 we headed to the scuba place and met brie. everything was done by about 4:45 then I headed back to get my car then went to mom’s for dinner. I talked to Maggie and Sarah earlier about heading to the beach that night and then heard from Corey later confirming that we would do that. I decided I would wait for Sarah who was on her date. Her date started at 3 so I thought she would be done by latest at 7, at 9 I decided I wasn’t waiting any longer and of course that was when she decided to leave too. It ended up taking me an hour 40 to get down there and we sat on the porch for a while before going to bed and getting up at 10 the next day. We had a decent breakfast at the club house except I got over-easy eggs that weren’t cooked well enough for me and the sausage Maggie and I split wasn’t cooked thoroughly either. I still cringe thinking about it. We had an awesome day at the beach

Me playing sudoku - nerd alert.
We ended up leaving the beach at 9 thinking we would avoid the after dinner crowd, but there was still a good amount of traffic. It wasn’t the tolls that was the problem it was the merging into 2 lanes from 3. i don’t understand why people have such an issue with merging.
oh man.. well overall the weekend was awesome minus the not working out Friday through Sunday. Sunday I ate pretty well despite being at the beach. We did get a good breakfast so I wasn’t hungry for lunch but did have a Kohr’s brothers vanilla with rainbow sprinkle. I only ever eat the ice cream that has the sprinkles on it and throw the rest out. And then for dinner I had two pieces of mushroom Mack and Mancos. I can’t even remember the last time I had Mack and Manco’s which is just sad.
mehhh well yesterday was good at work and now it is Tuesday which means its almost Friday. Saturday I have plans to head to the radio1045 free block party with Tom and some of his friends and hopefully I can convince some of the girls to go.
skipped the 5 mile run this morning with Jeannine, or rather post-poned it. I got up and just knew that it was going to take me forever. She texted me back saying she was so happy I said that and then later that she couldn’t fall back asleep so she ended up running anyway but that it was so humid. I checked the weather and it is definitely suppose to cool down a bunch by Thursday so I definitely think it was the right choice.
I ended up waking up at 7:30 and showering and getting some stuff done before heading to work at 9:00. I love being able to wear normal clothes to work and the Warrington location is awesome because it is literally less than 2 miles from my house. Manayunk is further but I do like those people more as of right now.
I had my usual yogurt with oatmeal, strawberries, and chia seeds for breakfast and am trying to hold off until 12:30 to eat lunch. My boss just arrived though so I should probably look like I am doing things besides blogging, so I might eat lunch now. I was planning on getting some notecards done today so this might put a damper on my plans.
8 hours down, 1 hour to go
So I started watching episodes of Jamie Oliver’s food revolution in hopes that there are clips I can show my members to think about what they are eating when they order in things like cheesesteaks and pizza or when they go get fast food. Each episodes is 45 minutes so it is taking up a good amount of time and there are definitely clips that I can show them as ice breakers and to start conversations.
I also am planning on buying supersize me to show on rainy days and have come up with some other ideas. One of the members was complaining that he was bored, something I do like 100 times a day so I asked him to take me to the gym they have in the complex. They have a treadmill, eliptical, and a weight station but no free weights, probably because people tend to steal things like that.
The other members had a trip today so I didnt really have anything else to do, I probably could have met with them but figured it would be better to talk to them tomorrow during wellness group.
On an unrelated note I have been using this blog to kinda track what I have been eating and so I figured I would update that here, I apologize for the lack of pictures
Breakfast: half a cup of wegman’s organic super vanilla yogurt with 1 tbsp chia seeds, 4 strawberries and 1/4 cup granola
Lunch: mixed greens with carrots, broccoli, feta cheese, roasted non salted almonds with light balsamic dressing, 6 strawberries, and some graham crackers.
Dinner: not sure yet
5.25 hours down, 2.75 to go
Here is a list of what I have accomplished so far today…
So I realized my major complaint with my current job and a lot of the jobs I have had in the past: I am too efficient. I know for the most part how to manage my time in a way that by the time 2:30 rolls around I have nothing else to do and it drives me insane. Bottom line- I like keeping busy. Most people probably would love to have a job where they have a ton of time to spend on their personal things so that they can go home and relax. I like relaxing and doing whatever I want when I get home too, i.e. go to the gym, watch tv, go to happy hour, etc. but I do not like struggling to find things to do during the work day besides checking my email every 45 seconds to see if I got some spam mail that I can read because I am just that bored.
We had to fill out a paper with our professional and personal goals for this job and I ended up putting “Utilize my time more efficiently” as my personal goal. By this I did not mean become more organized so that I can get everything I need to accomplish done by the time I leave. Instead I mean do not do anything at home and get my to-do list, as much as possible, done at work. Do not do my notes in between the classes I teach but instead do them when I have nothing else to do. Do not keep my various emails and websites I check open in different tabs in my browser but instead close and reopen them every time I want to check them.
This will probably mean more time blogging and on pinterest.com finding different recipes and other ideas that I like. My stumble toolbar is going to get used more than it would be a stoner kid whos parents give them an allowance.
Well… So far today I have come across two things on pinterest that I really like
1. Roasted Red Pepper and basil pesto penne - this has everything that I love all wrapped up into one meal and I cannot wait to try it.

2. Mom and I have been working on some minor home improvements and one of them is to install new shelves in the kicthen closet. I saw this and I am not so sure about the shoe organizer but…

3.25 hours down, 4.75 to go.
I never really understood what they meant by the American Dream, was it the freedom to make your own choices or was it a family and owning a home? I always took it as a little bit of both.
Anyways.. here are some random pictures of rooms in houses/furniture that I really like.

Marilyn

this dress

these type of pictures - i have a similar “job” poster in my room

The Great Gatsby - I have read this book every summer since 10th grade and I am dying in anticipation of the movie

I love Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen

James Franco

Squirrels - I think they are hands down the funniest animals ever. I want one as a pet.

Ended up having today off due to the same event that made me have a half day yesterday. Tomorrow and Friday I will be going to Manayunk though full days. This morning I ended up having two blueberry pancakes that were left over from last time we made them - I defrosted them over night. I went to the9:45 body works class taught by Kristin. I usually skip the Sundays she teaches because she is unbelievably hard. I literally almost threw up like 5 times today during class. I was going to stay for yoga at 11 but after her workout I just had to go home (wimp).
For lunch/snack I had some Stacy’s pita chips and the rest of the herbed goat cheese, a peach, a string cheese, a strawberry chobani with chia seeds and extra fresh strawberries and 1 keebler elf double fudge cookie. It was clearly a super healthy and balanced lunch. I then snacked on some blueberries while I got my vitamin D outside on the deck.
I ended up calling the dentist to see if they had any openings today so I don’t have to worry about getting there on time in two weeks after already taking off Monday and Tuesday for my RD Exam review. They a said no at first but then said they would be able to fit me in at 5:15 yay! After dinner I might try and get some elliptical time in, although I think the weight class had quite a bit of cardio in it hence the nausea.
